I have quite a bit of a rant about Republicans....I mean, what the heck are they thinking?  I don't know where most republicans stand on issues these days, just about as much as I don't understand why democrats individually are for what they are for.  Don't get me wrong, I understand what democrats think they believe, but when you break down each issue logically, most of what they believe makes no sense.  The Republican party is starting to do the same thing!  For example, how can the republican party stand for fiscal responsibility while still allowing bills to pass in congress that are chuck full of pork?  In the 2003 budget that congress passed this year, there is going to be more than $20 billion in pork barrel spending!  The house and senate both are Republican controlled this year....and still pass this kind of crap?  This makes me embarrassed to be an american when this stuff happens.  So, I guess I am embarrassed at least once a year...oh, if congress gets around to even passing a budget once a year that is.  This is an outrage!!!  Why aren't democrats yelling and screaming about the Republicans over-spending?  Could it be that both parties are now embracing the politics of thievery?  It's truly criminal...or should be.  But I guess it would only be criminal if the same dudes that pork out on our money decide to make it criminal.

That leads me to another thing....is it just me or are the Republicans now practicing some very shady politics with the proposed tax cut bill?  What kind of policy says that tax cuts should be "...phased in over 10 years"?  Is it beyond the presidents and congresses grasp that budgets are made on a yearly basis and even if each year the plan is re-affirmed, which is unlikely, the next president will likely have his own tax plans and overule this one?
Republicans are going to have to wise up and grow some spines if they want to be an example of a party that anybody will want to trust.
Personally, I think that differences between the Republican and Democrat parties are fading.....this is quite disturbing to me.
