responce to cubiclebowling submitted by "mudslinger": Cubiclebowling, I'm hoping your "when in doube, raise taxes" idea is sarcastic. Seems to me that if the government is running a surplus, increasing taxes to make for a larger surpus will not get anyone anywhere. A surplus is above and beyond budgeted expenses...so what good does it do? It simply symbolizes the fact that we are already paying too much...the government loves to spend our money, but they are taxing us so much that they are running out of ways to get it all spent! Don't worry though, I'm sure a bunch of congressmen will put their heads together to figure out how to allocate $40 million dollars towards some useless "study" or maybe another $40 million towards a new wing in the useless department of education.
I have just come to the conclusion that there are a lot of ugly people out there.

I'm confused as to how the US tries wipe out Al-Kaida terrorists and the governments that support them, but doesn't want Isreal to wipe out Palistinian terrorists and the govenments that support them....

Al Gore didn't say what you have here...you just don't like a gud man like Al Gore! Al Gore don't make mistakes, he been set up by Bush and the election been stoled from him!
The government seems to be the only organization that expands all the time, gives raises to its employees every year, and is allowed a monopoly in certian markets. In times of recession, private companies cannot afford to give raises to workers, and often cut pay or are forced to lay people off in order to stay viable in the marketplace. It is not right that in this most recent recession, the government has continued to hire and give raises and increase spending, while Joe Shmoe private sector worker, who funds the government with his taxes, is just hoping that his job is available the next day. Can anybody explain this phenomenon to me?
